Bellevue dug out of a double-digit hole to lead in the fourth quarter of its Sea-King district semi-final game against Eastside Catholic. But the Crusaders retook the lead in short order, winning 55-47 and sending the Wolverines to Saturday’s third place game against O’Dea.
Sharif Khan scored a team high 12 points, and briefly gave his team its only lead with five and a half minutes remaining. But Eastside Catholic went on a 7-0 run to regain control, and allowed only two Bellevue points after Khan’s hoop while outscoring the Wolverines 10-2.
Eastside Catholic senior Nathan Christie scored a game high 16 points to lead the Crusaders, while Mandrell Worthy added 14 and Mattisse Thybulle scored 10.
Jack Walton added nine in the loss for Bellevue, which will head to next week’s Regional round after facing the Irish at Bellevue College Saturday for third place.
