Due to the closure of Group Health Cooperative’s Eastside Hospital and Emergency Department on April 30, the Emergency & Trauma Center at Overlake Hospital Medical Center is poised to handle the additional emergency patient volume that’s expected from both Group Health membership and residents in the surrounding community.
“We want to make sure all Group Health members and other area residents previously served by Eastside Hospital know they can now come to Overlake for emergency care,” said Marcia Johnson, RN, vice president of Patient Care Services at Overlake. “Our expanded Emergency & Trauma Center opened last fall and has the capacity and excellent physicians, nurses and staff to care for those in need of emergency services.”
As part of a long-term partnership between Overlake Hospital Medical Center and Group Health Cooperative, Eastside-area Group Health members in need of inpatient hospital care will be admitted to Overlake where they will be cared for by Group Health physicians.
