Medina philanthropists Diane and John Sabey once again will serve as chairs of the 27th annual Gala Dinner and Auction for Providence O’Christmas Trees 2011. John and Diane Sabey chaired last year’s gala with John’s parents, David and Sandra Sabey, and helped raise more than $1 million for Providence Senior and Community Services.
Joining them in this year’s star lineup is O’Christmas Trees newcomer Seattle restaurateur Thierry Rautureau, owner of Rover’s and Luc restaurants, who will surprise guests with a special tree he will design as this year’s Presenting Artist.
Rounding out the team is Presenting Graphic Designer Ryan Miller Barnes, founder/creative director of Miller Barnes and art director for Seattle University School of Law.
John is president of Sabey Data Centers. Diane is on the board of governors of the Swedish Foundation, serves on the board of trustees of the Fulcrum Foundation, and is on the alumni board of Holy Names Academy. The couple, who have known each other since they attended Holy Family school in Kirkland, live in Medina and have two young children.
“For us, children, elderly care, education and healthcare are things that we are really passionate about, that really draw us,” Diane Sabey said. “Providence covers all of those.”
O’Christmas Trees kicks off this year on Nov. 28 with the free “A Family Affair Treeview,” continues with the Silver Bells Luncheon on Nov. 29, and concludes with the Gala Dinner and Auction on Nov. 30, all held at The Westin Seattle.
Proceeds benefit programs supported by Providence Senior and Community Services, celebrating caring services that enhance the lives of those in need through healthcare, housing and hospice.
