We have an epidemic in our state. It’s whooping cough and it shouldn’t be happening.
The problem is that too many people aren’t keeping booster shots up to date to prevent the illness.
Whooping cough – it’s also known as pertussis – is a contagious bacterial infection that causes severe coughing. The disease can be life-threatening for young children.
Without vaccinations or booster shots, many more people are put at risk because the disease can spread.
It’s easy for people to forget what vaccinations they need – and when. If that’s you, make an appointment with your physician and discuss the issue.
A shot is a pretty easy alternative to being exposed – or exposing someone else – to a life-threatening disease. Stop stalling – and roll up those sleeves.
