Marylyn Joyce McManus

Born Marylyn Joyce Cook on April 10, 1942 to Bennie and Barbara Cook of St John WA. Marylyn passed away Saturday July 27, 2013.

Marylyn graduated St John High in 1960, and then went on to Nurses training at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane. Marylyn worked as a Registered Nurse at Holy Family Hospital in Spokane prior to moving to Bellevue. Marylyn worked as a Registered Nurse for Overlake Hospital in Bellevue for 36 years. Marylyn was selected as Overlake Hospital “Employee of the Year in 1999” from approximately 2000 other employees.

Marylyn was very considerate, generous, thoughtful, grateful, caring, empathetic, and willing to help wherever needed. She was a quality person through and through. Everyone should have a friend like Marylyn.

Marylyn is survived by her husband Richard (Dick) McManus, sons Shawn, Patrick and Kevin, mother Barbara Cook Mason, 7 Grand Children, Breanna, Larissa, Cleighton, Brooke, Reaston, Parker and Weston, Daughter-in-law Mollie, Brother Ron Cook, sister-in-law Janice Cook.

Marylyn enjoyed her friends at Bingo, Bunco, gambling and extensive foreign travel, but nothing was more important to Marylyn than the well being of her family.

A celebration of Marylyn’s life will be held at the Embassy Suites Hotel 3225 158th Ave SE Bellevue WA. Sunday August 4, 2013 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM. Special room prices are available for guests that want an overnight stay.
