Helen Lidstone Scarpino

Helen Lidstone Scarpino, 100, died peacefully in Bellevue, Washington on July 13, 2010. She was born in San Saba, Texas on December 8, 1909 to Mary Aline Adair and Lamar Worsham Lidstone. Helen was a graduate of the University of Washington and held a teaching degree and taught in Washington and Hawaii. She was married for 56 years to Captain William Joseph Scarpino, USN, and was an active member in the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) for forty-nine years receiving a distinguished service award in 2001. She is survived by her two children, Priscilla Ann Johnston and William Joseph Scarpino Jr.; three grandchildren, Mandy Murphy, Tracy Scarpino, Mac Johnston; and four great-grandchildren.A graveside memorial service for family and friends was held at Sunset Hills Memorial Park. She will be missed by so many.
