Betty Robinson

Mary Elizabeth “Betty” White Lutt Robinson was born in Gregory, South Dakota to Robert Martin & Rose Ellen (Flynn) White. Graduated from St Mary’s Academy, O’Neill, Nebraska in 1948 & went to Creighton University, Omaha, Nebraska. Married Paul Warren Lutt, Sr in 1951 & son Paul W. Lutt, Jr is her only child. Paul, Sr died in 1966. Paul Neuman Robinson, PhD and Betty were married in 1970 and until his retirement they lived and worked in Pennsylvania where he was a professor of Anglo-Irish Literature at the University of Pittsburgh. During these years Betty did Genealogical research made prize-winning preserves, hosted friends from far and wide and herded many cats! They retired in Bellevue, WA.Betty died after a 15 year battle with squamous cell cancer (mouth, jaw, lungs).Her lifelong hobbies included writing detailed interesting letters on a typewriter (no computer), never forgetting birthdays or anniversaries, live theatre, travel to Ireland and being a thoughtful friend to all she met along the way. She especially cherished old friends and CATS!A direct descendant of Richard Warren (Society of Mayflower Descendants), she was a Charter member of Cascade Chapter, DAR, member of the Seattle Genealogical Society, Trenchers and Flagoners, and Genealogy societies in Vermont and Pennsylvania. She was eligible to join many genealogical organizations.Predeceased by parents Bob & Rose White, sister Pat O’Flynn; niece Rosemary Dee Parish; husbands Paul Lutt, Sr & Dr Paul Robinson. Survived by son Paul Lutt, Jr (Dotti); sister Jean White Looy (Dave), & Pat’s family: Kathy Parish, Cpt Jim Parish USN (Michelle), Rob Parish and Kim Parish Montgomery (John); brothers-in-law Geo Yelland Jr, Fr. Laurence Robinson, SJ and Gene Rupel; sister-in-law Diane Robinson, cousins and members of Dr. Robinson’s family.On Saturday, May 4, 2013, 10:00 am, Mass is scheduled at St Madeleine Sophie Catholic Church, 4400 130th Pl SE in Bellevue, WA 98006, with inurnment of Betty & Paul Robinson’s urn at Sunset Hills Memorial Park at noon.In lieu of flowers, please remember Betty with donations for the care of the elderly members’ of SISTERS OF ST.
