John Thomas Coble

John Thomas Coble, age 86, passed peacefully at Overlake Hospital in Bellevue, Washington on Wednesday, September 24, 2014. Born August 17, 1928 in Greensboro, North Carolina, he was raised an only child in Philadelphia.

John joined the Army Air Corps in February 1946. He married Thelma Ella Meloy in June of 1947 and enjoyed a 21 year Air Force career retiring as a Chief Master Sergeant. He and Thelma were married for 50 years.

In December 1966, John joined the Boeing Company and worked another 20 years in data center operations and special projects like the B2 Bomber. Lifelong golfer, “Johnny” as he was known to most, loved watching his family grow.

John is survived by his daughters Theresa Coble (Bruce), Marsha Morrison (Gregg), four grandchildren: Michael Morrison (Jennifer), Mila Greisen (John), Ann Carson (Scott), Kelly Stokesbary (Kevin), and nine great-grandchildren: Katelyn, Kymber and Lauren Morrison, Demi, Brooke, Chace and Reece Carson, Payton and Parker Stokesbary.

The family held a private service at Sunset Hills Memorial Park and suggests memorials be made to Baa Haus Animal Rescue Group, PO Box 2356 Vashon, Washington, 98070.
