Betty Lou Wahle
Betty Lou Wahle, 93, of Ellensburg, WA, passed away peacefully at Cottage in the Meadow Hospice in Yakima, WA on January 25, 2016. Born on November 30, 1922 to Cecil and Juret Baker of Ellensburg, Betty was a graduate of Central Washington University and held a degree in education.
Betty was married to Roy Patrick Wahle on August 26, 1944. They were happily married for 64 years.
Betty was a devoted wife and mother, talented seamstress, avid reader, world traveler and an enthusiastic patron of the arts, including theater, ballet and opera. She worked as a social worker in Roslyn, WA and was a founding member of the Roslyn Historical Society museum. Betty enjoyed golf, bridge and charitable work as a guild member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Bellevue, WA.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband Roy and her sister Virginia DalMaso.
She is survived by sons Chris (Patti) Wahle, Charles (Deanne) Wahle and Kurt Wahle; daughter Juret Walker; ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
A service for Betty will be held at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Ellensburg, WA on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to Cottage in the Meadow Hospice in Yakima, WA.
