Late last week, City Manager Brad Miyake appointed Toni Call as Bellevue’s Finance Director, effective immediately. Call has served as the interim finance director since May 2016.
“Through her years with the city, Toni continuously demonstrated her broad fiscal knowledge and financial stewardship as well as her strong commitment to public service,” Miyake said in a release. “With a $1.5 billion biennial budget, Bellevue needs an astute finance director who is forward-thinking, fiscally responsible, and emphasizes achieving community outcomes. Toni fit the requirements to a T.”
As interim finance director, Call worked on the Fire and Transportation ballot measures that Bellevue voters approved in November and provided oversight of the 2017-2018 budget process. She joined the City of Bellevue as budget manager in May 2011 and served as assistant finance director for more than four years. In that capacity, she gained insight into the operations of all departments as well as the financial needs of the organizations for the long term.
“Having lived in Bellevue most of my life, I look forward to guiding the city’s financial matters in my new role,” Call said. “As a strong advocate for the efficient and effective use of the city’s financial resources, the Finance Department is committed to making the community the best it can be, and I am grateful for the opportunity to lead this department.”
Call has a long record of public service, specializing in financial matters. Prior to joining the City of Bellevue, she worked at King County for more than 11 years in varying positions of responsibilities with her last position as the deputy director of the Office of Performance, Strategy and Budget. Call is a member of the International City Management Association, Government Finance Officers Association, Washington Finance Officers Association, and is a 2013 graduate of the Senior Executive Institute leadership program.
The Finance Department provides financial services for city staff and residents including accounting, operating & capital budget, investment, disbursements, debt, tax, treasury and procurement.
