Bellevue Utilities invites residents to comment on the city’s draft 2017 stormwater management plan during the Environmental Services Commission meeting at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 5 at City Hall, 450 110th Ave. NE, conference room 1E-113.
Bellevue must submit a stormwater management program plan each year to the state Department of Ecology. It describes actions the city will take in the upcoming year to meet federal water quality protection requirements.
Bellevue is one of more than 100 communities in Washington that must implement requirements in the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System Phase II Municipal Stormwater Permit. The permit is a requirement of the federal Clean Water Act and available at the Department of Ecology.
All comments received on the draft plan will be considered before Bellevue submits it to ecology. A copy of the draft plan is available on the utilities department home page.
