Bellevue grad Baker will enter 2017 NFL Draft
University of Washington Huskies safety Budda Baker, who is a 2014 graduate of Bellevue High School, announced on Twitter on Jan. 3 that he will forgo his senior season of college football and enter the 2017 National Football League draft. Baker, who started at safety for the past three seasons with the Huskies, was part of a UW squad that made history in 2016. The Huskies finished the 2016 season with an overall record of 12-2. The Huskies lost to the Alabama Crimson Tide 24-7 in the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl in Atlanta on Dec. 31.

Newport wins third consecutive contest
The Newport Knights rolled to their third consecutive victory courtesy of a 52-35 win against Holy Names Academy on Dec. 28.
The Knights (5-3) will host the Skyline Spartans at 7 p.m. on Jan. 6 in Factoria.
Totems cruise to victory against Highline
The Sammamish Totems registered a 68-14 victory against Highline on Dec. 30. The Totems (3-7) will face the Bellevue Wolverines at 7 p.m. on Jan. 6 at Bellevue High School.
Wolverines dominate Eagles
The Bellevue Wolverines nabbed a 72-29 win against the Arlington Eagles on Dec. 22. The Wolverines (5-1) will host the Sammamish Totems at 7 p.m. on Jan. 6 at Bellevue High School.

Saints win rivalry showdown against Totems
The Interlake Saints defeated the Sammamish Totems 45-36 in a matchup between rival schools on Dec. 30. The Saints (3-7) will face the Redmond Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. in Redmond. The Totems (0-10) will play the Bellevue Wolverines at 8:30 p.m. on Jan. 6 in Bellevue.
Vikings lose non-league contest to Hoquiam
Hoquiam defeated Bellevue Christian 56-48 on Dec. 30. The Vikings (3-5) will face Seattle Christian at 7 p.m. on Jan. 6.
Knights defeat El Camino
The Newport Knights defeated El Camino (California) 60-55 in a non-league contest on Dec. 30. The Knights (4-5) will host the Skyline Spartans in a Class 4A KingCo contest at 8:30 p.m. on Jan. 6.
