Bellevue’s Nick Moyer and Newport’s Trace Tam Sing have been selected to play in the All-State Series this weekend in Yakima.
The All-State series, a cross section of all classifications throughout the state, will feature selected players spread across four teams participating in a mini-round robin tournament.
Selections were based on several criteria, including total high school stats, senior year stats, feeder game performance, recommendations of coaches and position needs for the All-State Series. A total of 78 players were selected for the tournament.
In 18 games this season, Tam Sing hit .439 for Newport with two home runs and 19 RBI. Moyer hit .448 in 22 games with one home run, 11 RBI and six doubles.
Sing will be playing on Team Adams, coached by Cashmere coach Jeff Carlson while Moyer will play on Team Rainier, coached by O’Dea head coach Mike Doyle.
