Vikings clinch berth at state softball tournament

The Bellevue Christian Vikings captured a 7-6 win against Coupeville in a winner-to-state, loser-out West Central District III playoff game on May 20 at Sprinker Recreation Center in Parkland. Bellevue Christian (17-2) will face Warden at noon on May 26 in the first round of the Class 1A state tournament at Columbia Playfield in Richland.

Bulldogs earn fourth place at NWAC tournament

The Bellevue College Bulldogs softball team captured fourth place at the Northwest Athletic Conference Championships on May 21. The Bulldogs, who went 4-2 at the tournament, lost 4-3 to Wenatchee Valley in the third/fourth place game. The Bulldogs registered victories against Spokane, Edmonds, Lower Columbia and North Idaho. The Bulldogs finished the 2017 season with an overall record of 35-15.

Bellevue defeats Ballard in playoff matchup

The Bellevue Wolverines registered a 19-2 victory against the Ballard Beavers in a loser-out playoff game on May 19 at Bellevue Memorial Stadium. Bellevue players Paul Johnson and Justin Angelel each scored four goals apiece in the victory. Cameron McMahon added three goals as well.

TENNIS

Saints win district tennis championship

The Interlake Saints earned first place at the 2017 Class 3A SeaKing District tennis tournament on May 18 at Lower Woodland Park in Seattle. Interlake singles player Olivia Sun captured first place at the tournament. The Saints doubles team consisting of Jessica Liang/Shereyaa Mukund went undefeated at the tournament, en route to a first place finish.
