Oct. 23
Traffic stop leads to warrant, drug bust: At 12:56 a.m. in the intersection of 148th Avenue Northeast and Northeast Eighth Street, a Bellevue police officer conducted a traffic stop and discovered that the driver was suspended. The officer could see drug paraphernalia in plain view in the car. The other two occupants were detained and identified. Both passengers had outstanding arrest warrants. All three occupants were arrested and booked into jail and the vehicle was towed back to the station for a search warrant.
Oct. 24
Don’t steal my car: At 3:21 a.m. in the 200 block of 146th Place NE, a victim awoke to the sound of his garage door opening. He looked out of his window and saw a suspect in his vehicle pushing the garage door opener. The suspect fled and was not located by police.
Oct. 25
The ATM was too heavy: At 2:38 a.m. in the 13100 block of Bel Red Road, officers responded to an audible alarm at the Washington Department of Licensing offices. They discovered that unknown suspects gained entry by smashing the front door. They attempted to steal a small ATM from the front lobby but were unsuccessful.
Lock your bike: At 11:07 p.m. in the 1400 block of 156th Avenue Northeast, a victim and suspect got into an argument over the victim’s bike being knocked over. The suspect assaulted the victim. Police later apprehended the suspect and booked him/her into jail for assault.
Oct. 26
Domestic violence assault: At 3:14 a.m. in the 500 block of 143rd Ave. NE, a passerby called to report a disturbance. Officers arrived and contacted the involved subjects. After a short investigation, officers determined that the male suspect assaulted his girlfriend after an argument over text messages. Police arrested the suspect for domestic violence assault and booked him into jail.
Crossroads stabbing: At 6:08 a.m. in the 1400 block of 156th Ave. NE, a 16-year-old male, who was a Bellevue resident, was dropped off at the hospital after being stabbed in the Crossroads area. Detectives are investigating.
Lock your gym bags: At 6 p.m. in the 15000 block of Main Street, three separate thefts occurred between 5-6 p.m. The suspect stole a car, apartment keys, money and credit cards out of multiple gym bags. The suspect then entered the victims vehicles and stole more items.
Thief arrest turns up huge warrant: At 10:42 p.m. in the 4000 block of Factoria Square, an officer responded to a theft. Upon contacting the suspect, the officer confirmed a $25,000 felony warrant out of King County Sheriff’s Office for possession of a stolen vehicle. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to jail.
Oct. 27
Radio station threat: At 12:27 p.m. in the 3600 block of 131st Ave. SE, Rock 98.9 radio station, which is based in Bellevue, reported they had received a veiled threat from a suspect hoping someone would do a “drive-by” on the station for a segment called “Deadbeat Dad.” The segment is radio theater and not actual people, police reported. The report was taken for documentation purposes.
Attempted child luring: At 2:46 p.m. at 14700 block of NE 37th Place, a 7-year-old boy reported that he was chased by two males after getting off the bus. Detectives are following up.
Oct. 28
Another swastika: At 12:42 p.m. in the intersection of Northeast First and 100th Avenue Northeast, a resident was at a playground with her child when she noticed a swastika drawn on one of the structures. Neither the resident nor officers know when the crime occurred or of any suspects. Officers were able to remove the drawing.
Elderly woman hit by car: At 9:15 p.m. in the 15500 block of NE 11th St., an 85-year-old woman was hit by a car in a parking lot. Bellevue Fire Department responded and transported her to the hospital. A traffic unit is still investigating the incident.
