The Bellevue Fire Department responded to an apartment fire that left multiple displaced Wednesday morning.

No injuries were reported from the fire, which occurred at the Woodside Apartments in the Crossroads neighborhood, 16200 block of NE 14th Place.

The fire occurred at approximately 7:50 a.m. The fire department reported the fire was under control at about 8:45 am.

According to Bellevue Fire Department Lt. Brian Gomez, a total of eight families were affected with six displaced for an unknown amount of time.

Red Cross Northwest, along with property management, assisted those who lost their home in the fire.

“Unfortunately, several families reported that they did not have renter’s insurance,” Gomez said in an email.

Fire units from the city of Redmond assisted Bellevue with the fire, which burned its way into the building’s attic space and spread to adjacent units.

Gomez said property management was already working with contractors after the fire to repair damage to the building in efforts to get several occupants back in their apartment homes as soon as possible.

“Residents whose apartment was directly impacted by fire will be unable to reoccupy anytime soon due to the extensive damage to the structure,” he said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, the fire department reported.
