The following is a sample from the Bellevue Police Department’s Bellevue Beat Blog:

Oct. 30

Vehicle thief hits-and-runs: At 2:46 p.m. in the intersection of Southeast Fifth Street and 118th Avenue Southeast, a driver crashed a Honda Civic into a ditch. Witnesses saw two subjects flee from the vehicle to the Wilburton Trestle. About 45 minutes later, the vehicle was reported as stolen from Renton and Kent police. Officers were unable to locate the suspects, however, the vehicle was towed.

Bad marijuana: At 1:04 p.m. in the 15600 block of SE 24th St., a male was seen running around the road waving down vehicles asking for help to get to the hospital because he believed he had ingested marijuana that was laced with another drug. Police determined he was also involved in a hit-and-run crash earlier that day. The male was transported to the hospital and interviewed.

Ring thief gets away: At 5:40 p.m. in the 200 block of Bellevue Way NE, a male tried on two rings and then exited through the front door of a business without paying. The clerk tried to block his way, but he shoved her aside. The suspect left the area. Detectives are investigating.

Racist subject at the bus stop: At 6 p.m. in the 300 block of Bellevue Way NE, a suspect approached a victim at a bus stop and got upset, making racist comments towards the victim. Police could not locate the suspect nor were there any additional witnesses.

Oct. 31

Meth found: At 8:52 a.m. in the 4100 block of Factoria Blvd SE, an officer stopped a subject for driving with a suspended license. During the stop, the officer located suspected meth residue in the suspect’s possession, and the subject was booked into jail.

Nov. 1

Domestic violence and illegal marijuana: At 2:34 a.m. in the 10600 block of NE Ninth Place, multiple subjects were involved in a domestic violence incident. During the incident, a suspect assaulted a victim, causing visible injury. The suspect was arrested for domestic violence assault in the fourth degree and was later booked into jail. While at the scene, an officer smelled marijuana coming from an open closet. The officer found a large amount of marijuana, “well above” above the amount legally allowed. Police notified detectives and the apartment was secured, pending a search warrant.

Nov. 3

Hot chase turns into cold arrest: At 8:16 a.m. in the 2800 block of 156th Ave. SE, Washington State Patrol began chasing a driver after witnessing the driver drive through a four-way stop. The short pursuit was terminated shortly after. The vehicle was located and the suspect ran on foot from a trooper, who requested assistance from Bellevue police. Officers established a perimeter and King County Sheriff’s K-9 unit responded. Law enforcement learned the vehicle the suspect was driving had been reported stolen. The K-9 unit later found a “very cold” suspect hiding under a trailer.

Son assaults mom: At 6 p.m. in the 14600 block of NE 34th St., a son was in an argument with his mother and prevented her from leaving an apartment. The suspect then assaulted his mother and fled before police arrived. Police forwarded charges to the prosecutor for filing.

Minors caught smoking marijuana: At 4:20 p.m. in the intersection of 164th Avenue Northeast and Northeast 14th Street, three juveniles were caught smoking marijuana in the middle of a children’s play area. Police called the subjects’ parents.

Police bust man for drugs, etc.: At 4:43 p.m. in the 600 block of Bellevue Way NE, officers responded to a report of a subject yelling and possibly using drugs. Officers contacted the subject and he/she gave a fake name to the officers. The subject left but officers later learned that the subject had an alias with a felony warrant. Officers located and detained the subject, and confirmed his real identity. The subject was arrested on his warrants. A search located various cards in other people’s names, suspected heroin, meth and possibly fentanyl. The suspect was booked into jail.

Nov. 4

Intoxicated boy lost and found: At 12:13 a.m. in the 10th block of Lummi Key, police were contacted after a 17-year-old boy under the influence of alcohol was reported lost in Newport Shores. The boy had been gone for several hours. Officers located the boy in a backyard using the “find my iPhone app” with permission from the boy’s parents. The boy was suffering from severe hypothermia and was transported via medics to the hospital for treatment.

Reports of knife: At 2:02 a.m. in the intersection of Bellevue Way Northeast and Northeast Fourth Street, police received reports of a disturbance involving a knife. Several suspects were detained. But the caller and the victim were both intoxicated and no longer wanted to press charges. Police could not locate any weapons or injuries on those involved.

Angry son: At 7:25 p.m. in the 100 block of 108th Ave. NE, a mother called to report her son was damaging items inside their condo. Responding officers spent about 30 minutes negotiating with the uncooperative son, who refused to come out of the shower, but finally detained him.

Nov. 5

Man exposes self at lingerie store: At 12:19 p.m. in the 600 block of Bellevue Way NE, a male suspect asked to try on a pair of underwear at Victoria’s Secret. The suspect then exposed his genitals. Officers later located the male and arrested him.
