For the first time ever, the jazz bands from Newport and Bellevue high schools will gather for a musical celebration of the holiday season to perform all nine movements of “The Nutcracker Suite,” a 1960 original arrangement by Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn.
The concert promises to deliver an enjoyable evening of music with a twist on an old classic.
This is the first time these two school jazz bands have come together for a joint concert of this type. It is expected to become an annual event.
The public is invited to attend. Tickets are $5 and will be sold at the door.
The concert will begin at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 13 in the Bellevue High School auditorium, 10416 Wolverine Way, Bellevue.
