Bellevue gym to host week-long workouts to benefit charity

A Bellevue gym is helping the community jumpstart its New Year’s fitness resolutions, while contributing to a healthier and happier community, too.

From Jan. 8-13, Impact Strength & Performance is hosting its first #SweatForHealing event, a week-long series offering affordable community classes in which all proceeds will benefit a local nonprofit, First Aid Arts.

Each class is just $10, and all proceeds will benefit First Aid Arts, which provides arts-based healing resources to trauma victims and those who care for them.

The week-long series will be open for the community workout at 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and at 10 a.m. with a bootcamp workout on Saturday. Impact Strength & Performance is located at 1508 128th PL NE in Bellevue.

The Bellevue community gym offers a variety of classes focused on strength building, improving mobility and helping clients reach their unique fitness goals. It was founded by Drew Ragan in 2011.

With a credentials list a mile long (he’s been an American Ninja Warrior, power lifer, yogi, college football player and a degree in psychology), Ragan found that the mind-body connection is where the real magic happens.

With this, he started the gym not with a focus on helping members get washboard abs (although, many do – his members transformations are incredible) but more with a focus on creating community.
