Feb. 17

Not the salsa:At 4:08 p.m. in the 300 block of Bellevue Way NE, two suspects stole several food items and tried to leave a store through a stairwell that leads to a parking garage. Loss prevention stopped them but one suspect began making threats. A “scuffle” ensued and several bags of chips and jars of salsa were damaged during the “fracas.” One suspect was released to his father while the other was booked into jail.

Feb. 16

Office burglary: At 6:52 a.m. in the 11000 block of NE 11th St., a suspect pried open a door and burglarized an apartment office between 1-6 a.m.

Feb. 15

Weapons scare leads to caught thieves:At 8:49 a.m. in the 2000 block of 148th Ave. NE, a suspect was seen putting a black semi-automatic handgun in his waistband. The suspect then entered a Fred Meyer and Redmond and Bellevue police responded. Five suspects were detained and a black BB gun was recovered. The suspects all possessed stolen property.

Feb. 14

Passed out driver crashes:At 12:08 p.m. in the 1000 block of 102nd Place SE, a truck crashed into a brick wall with the driver passed out behind the wheel. During the police investigation, officers found drug paraphernalia. The driver was arrested and a search of his truck revealed suspected narcotics.

Elderly lady drives onto pub roof:At 8:34 a.m. in the 12000 block of NE 12th St., an elderly driver lost control of her vehicle on an elevated driveway above Goose Pub. She drove over a guardrail, through a retaining wall, and finally stopped on top of the pub’s roof. The lower businesses were evacuated and the fire department responded. The driver was not injured but was transported to the hospital for an evaluation.

Feb. 12

Receipt scam busted:At 5:08 p.m. in the 4100 block of Factoria Blvd. SE, a suspect dug a receipt out of a trash can outside of a store and proceeded to select items on the receipt off the shelf. He then went to customer service and tried to return the items. Police booked the suspect into jail.

Car thief caught:At 10:41 a.m. in the 4100 block of Factoria Blvd. SE, an officer found a stolen vehicle that someone was driving on Factoria Boulevard Southeast. A high risk vehicle stop was conducted in the parking lot of Factoria Square Mall and the driver was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle. The front seat passenger was arrested for a felony warrant for possession of a stolen vehicle and second-degree identity theft.
