Suspect hijacks FedEx van, flees on I-90 | Police blotter

Sunday, July 8

Drugs Warrant: The janitor for the winter shelter stated that a group of people were harassing him when he told them to leave the property on the 500 block of 116th Ave. NE. Officers contacted three occupied vehicles parked in front of the Shelter with approximately 6 people in the vehicles. One subject was arrested for a misdemeanor warrant out of Redmond. Additionally, a meth pipe was seen at the feet of that subject. Due to observed paraphernalia in the vehicle the remaining individuals were detained. Another subject provided a false name to officers and his ID was confirmed and subject was arrested for warrants. A third suspect had a spring loaded knife on her person when she was frisked. The vehicle was impounded for a search warrant.

Saturday, July 7

Trespass: The victim and wife live out of a semi-truck. They returned to their vehicle after shopping to find the suspect asleep in their bed in the sleeper of the truck on the 12600 block of SE 41st Place. The suspect refused to leave so the victim picked up a hammer and struck him in the buttocks. The suspect then got up and exited the Semi. The victim confirmed that nothing was stolen and didn’t wish to pursue charges. The suspect was turned over to a sober friend.

Friday, July 6

Vehicle Theft/Hit and Run/DUI:

At about 1333 hours a FedEx driver left his truck to make deliveries on the 600 block of Bellevue Way. The suspect entered and stole the truck (keys in ignition). Suspect drove the stolen truck around the block a striking a Microsoft transit van and another FedEx truck before fleeing south on Bellevue way.

A motorcycle Officer working a Target Zero Emphasis patrol located the stolen truck traveling westbound on I-90 towards Seattle driving recklessly. The Officer maintained visual surveillance from I-90 into downtown Seattle near the Coleman dock where the vehicle was stopped by SPD and the suspect was taken into custody without incident. The suspect was later transported to Bellevue PD booking where a drug recognition expert evaluated the suspect for DUI drugs and served a blood search warrant.

Monday, July 2

Burglary: Officers responded to a 911 call at this location and discovered a shattered glass door. Officers made contact with the suspect through the broken door. Suspect eventually complied and was taken into custody for burglary.
