The following is a sample from the Bellevue Police Department’s Bellevue Beat Blog:

Feb. 25

Gone car: At 7 a.m. in the 1200 block of 147th Avenue Southeast, a victim left their car running in their driveway to warm up. When they returned, it was gone.

Mail thief: At 4 p.m. in the 1300 block of Bellevue Way, a suspect was caught stealing mail and packages from mailboxes on the street. The suspect was also in possession of suspected narcotics. They were arrested and booked.

Double trouble: At 12 p.m. in the 700 block of Bellevue Way Northeast, a suspect and an unknown female entered a store together. One was seen stealing two coats, worth $375. The suspect was caught and booked into jail.

Feb. 26

Burglary: At 4:43 a.m. in the 15000 block of Main Street, officers responded to a business alarm and found the back door was pried open. The cash register was taken.

Doctor dilemma: At 4:49 a.m., a janitor arrived to find that the business had been burglarized overnight. There was a total of three doctor offices burglarized.

Feb. 27

That’s my car: At midnight in the 12000 block of Southeast 42nd Court, a vehicle owner reported that there was someone in their vehicle, sitting in their driveway. The suspect stole the car and was driving away in it while officers were responding. An officer found the vehicle, but the suspect sped off and was not chased.

Forgery: At 10:06 a.m. in the 13600 block of Northeast Spring Boulevard, two business checks were allegedly stolen from the victim’s mailbox, altered and made payable to the suspect. The victim’s business will be reimbursed by the bank.

Feb. 28

Weapon retrieved: At 9:56 a.m. in the 600 block of 116th Avenue Northeast, an employee reported that a potentially homeless person had entered a customer’s vehicle and removed a firearm. The suspect handed the gun to the employee and left the scene on foot.

Threatened cabbie: At 10:49 a.m. at Northeast 4th Street and 110th Avenue Northeast, a cab driver reported that the suspect refused to pay and then threatened them with a knife. The suspect fled on foot and was eventually captured by officers near the Northeast 200th block of 112th Avenue Northeast. After the victim calmed down, and after further investigation, the victim recanted their statement about the suspect holding a weapon and making threats.

Aggressive meal: at 3:16 p.m. in the 1400 block of 145th Avenue Northeast, a suspect inside a McDonald’s was causing a disturbance and appeared to be intoxicated. Officers responded and attempted to place the suspect in protective custody. They became aggressive and hit an officer in the nose with his head, and bit another officer. The suspect was taken down and handcuffed. They suspect was booked and the two officers treated at a hospital and released.
