Twitter threat: At 2:29 p.m. in the 1700 block of 114th Avenue Southeast, a business received a threat via Twitter. An investigation found that the building was secure and nothing out of the ordinary was observed. The threat came from an out-of-state profile address. Law enforcement there was advised for further follow-up.
Stolen bag: At 5 p.m. in the 1600 block of 145th Place Southeast. A victim reported that a suspect stole her purse while she was walking home and fled south on 145th Place. Metro reported seeing a person who matched the suspect’s description taking the bus and getting off at the downtown transit center. Investigation is ongoing.
July 2
Mental health: At 8:50 p.m. in the 200 block of 110th Avenue Northeast, officers responded to reports of a man shouting that he saw someone with a gun. Police located the man who was in emotional distress and determined there was no one with a gun. The subject was taken to the hospital.
Injured tree: At 9:15 p.m. at 159th Place Southeast, there was an accident between a car and a tree. Police determined that the driver was intoxicated and was transported to the hospital for a blood draw warrant. The driver was released at the hospital.
July 3
Car theft: At 1:40 a.m. in the 1600 block of 145th Place Southeast, an officer responded to investigate a vehicle theft and found an unconscious passenger. After contact was made, the officer developed probable cause for suspected drug paraphernalia. The driver was not at the scene and the car was actually stolen. The suspect driver later called looking for her dog that was left in the car. The suspect was arrested and the dog put in a shelter.
Found grenade: At 1:13 p.m. in the 13800 block of Southeast 32nd Street, a grenade was found at the Factoria Transfer Station. The plant staff voluntarily evacuated the station and the bomb squad and Bellevue Fire Department responded. It was a military-grade smoke grenade. Bomb techs recovered the grenade for proper disposal.
July 5
Ditch crash: At 2:40 a.m. in the 15100 block of Southeast 38th Street, a driver crashed into a ditch while intoxicated. A warrant was executed for a blood draw and the suspect was summoned and released.
Drag racing: At 4:10 a.m. in the 1700 block of Bellevue Way Northeast, an officer was dispatched to a complaint of drag racing. The officer contacted a car in the parking lot. The driver had an active warrant and was arrested and booked into jail.
Ex-boyfriend threat: At 12:40 p.m. in the 500 block of Bellevue Way Northeast, a store manager reported that an ex-boyfriend of a recently fired employee called and threatened the business. The store was closed for the day. Officers determined the ex-girlfriend was safe. The suspect was called and identified. A case was filed.
Refusing to exit: At 3:40 p.m. at Northeast 8th Street and 110th Avenue Northeast, Washington State Patrol requested an assist from Bellevue Police. A driver was refusing to provide his identification and exit his car. The officer broke the driver side window to unlock the door. The suspect still refused to get out of his car, so officers pulled him out. As he continued to resist, an officer fired a taser at the suspect.
July 7
Late: At 10:40 a.m. in the 1000 block of 116th Avenue Northeast, a suspect was released from the hospital but was angry that the victim was not there. When the victim showed up, the suspect assaulted the victim and stole her phone. Witnesses broke up the fight. The suspect ran away but was located by officers. He had suspected drugs and was arrested.
Out of shape: At 2:05 p.m. in the 4100 block of Factoria Boulevard Southeast, a suspect stole items from a store and fled from officers when contacted. The officers were able to catch the suspect in a parking lot when he collapsed from exhaustion.
When branch and car collide: At 10:42 p.m. in the 13600 block of Bel-Red Road, a driver collided with a large tree branch. She told officers she could not see the branch as she approached it. The road was cleared.
