European email threat: At 7:35 a.m. in the 10400 block of Northeast 4th Street, the Bellevue Police Department received an email threatening employees of a local business. The correspondence came from an unidentified suspect using an Eastern European email account. Officers conducted a walkthrough at the business but they noticed nothing suspicious. The business did periodically receive similar threats but did not express concern.

Assault: At 8:44 p.m. in the 10500 block of Northeast 8th Street, an intoxicated male came up from behind a victim walking downtown and slid his hand up the back of the victim’s skirt and touched her buttocks. The suspect was located and detained by officers.

Aug. 6

Stolen gun: At 7:25 a.m. in the 600 block of 114th Avenue Southeast, a victim called to report that he woke up this morning and discovered that someone smashed out a window in his car. Stolen along with his belongings was a Springfield AR-15 rifle. It was kept in a canvas rifle bag and hidden under the driver’s seat.

Aug. 7

Jewelry theft: At 8:36 p.m. in the 2000 block of 148th Avenue Northeast, a retailer reported that a bag of jewelry was stolen on Aug. 6. There was video footage and a good suspect description. Officers spotted the suspect in the Crossroads area and detained him.

Aug. 9

Naked commotion: At 9:48 p.m. in the 900 block of 110th Avenue Northeast, the police were called to the above location over a disturbance. People reported that a suspect was breaking things on the fifth floor of an apartment building. He was allegedly causing the commotion while naked.

Aug. 10

Familiar backpack: At 5:06 p.m. in the 1100 block of 110th Avenue Northeast, a woman was at the downtown library and saw a man in possession of her backpack that was stolen several weeks ago. Officers established that the property wasn’t the man’s but he had no intention of returning the bag. The suspect was arrested.

Aug. 11

Overcoming love’s boulders: At 2:56 p.m. in the 14700 block of Northeast 39th Street, a suspect picked up a rock and repeatedly hit the victim’s car causing dents, scratches and other damage. The incident happened after an argument about the couple’s relationship.
