Trooper injured during traffic stop on I-405

A Washington State trooper is among three people injured during a traffic stop on Interstate 405. According to the State Patrol, a trooper stopped a silver BMW at around 11:45 p.m. near the I-405, State Route 520 interchange on suspicion of drunk driving. As the trooper was arresting the driver, a woman driving an Acura Integra hit the back of the patrol car, knocking it into the BMW and injuring all three people involved.

A Washington State trooper is among three people injured during a traffic stop on Interstate 405.

According to the State Patrol, a trooper stopped a silver BMW at around 11:45 p.m. near the I-405, State Route 520 interchange on suspicion of drunk driving. As the trooper was arresting the driver, a woman driving an Acura Integra hit the back of the patrol car, knocking it into the BMW and injuring all three people involved.

All three individuals involved were taken to Overlake Hospital Medical Center with serious injuries. State patrol said the officer was released over night.

The driver of the Acura is under investigation for DUI and vehicular assault as a result of the incident.
