Bellevue students of all ages are celebrating Cinco de Mayo in style this year by showcasing diversity at the second annual Puesta Del Sol International Festival.
Taking place Saturday, May 5, the event will feature a variety of international cuisine, as well as two performances by students from the Spanish Immersion program at Puesta Del Sol Elementary in Bellevue. The feast – which includes Indian, Mediterranean, Puerto Rican and Mexican fare – begins at 5:30 p.m. (if attending the 7 p.m. show) and 6:30 p.m. (if attending the 5 p.m. show). In addition to the tasty treats and entertainment, attendees will have the opportunity to check out a collection of cultural displays and activities in the “Global Village.”
Tickets for the 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. performances cost $5; tickets for the International Feast cost $10/adult and $5/children. Both are available for purchase at pds.schoolauction.net/if2012. The deadline for ordering food tickets is Tuesday, May 1. Also of note: The village opens at 4:15 p.m. and doors to each performance open 15 minutes prior to the show.
