Dong Won Lee, a sophomore, was one of six winners and received one of three festival medals for his rendition of the first movement of Beethoven’s Concerto No. 5 in E flat Major for piano.

Calvin Chan, a senior, received one of two alternate positions. Chan, a cellist, played the fourth movement of Elgar’s Concerto in E Minor.

The six winners of the festival will go on to perform in the Young Artists Concerto Concert on May 15 in Kane Hall at the University of Washington. The winners will play with the Philharmonia Northwest orchestra. The concert will be open to the public.
