It seems that everywhere we turn, nationally, regionally and locally, where we should have representation we instead have misrepresentation.
Nationally, despite overwhelming poll numbers to the contrary, our country’s leaders are driving us deeper into debt and making our country more and more vulnerable to extremists and illegal aliens.
Regionally, our feckless leaders have added to our extreme debt and have simply played politics to cover their failures and incompetence.
And, Locally, our City Council is elected with all at-large positions rather than by areas within Bellevue. This becomes a problem when some areas without a representative are potentially impacted by issues such as Sound Transit.
In fact, our own representative on the Sound Transit Board (appointed by the King County Executive, not by Bellevue) does not support the wishes of the majority of people (per the last election) of Bellevue (B7).
Regionally and locally, we are held captive by Seattle centric progressives. It wouldn’t be quite so bad if the farce that is Seattle didn’t spillover and have such a negative impact on Bellevue.
The city of Bellevue has developed some great master plans, but we need more representatives who will truly represent us and “walk the talk.”
