A new arcade is coming to Lucky Strike Lanes in Bellevue’s Lincoln Square. Slated to open Oct. 22, Power Play will contain over 75 gaming stations for almost 200 players.
One of the highlights of the arcade will be four driving simulators for the game Sega Outrun 2. Each will be a to-scale model of the rear-end of a Ferrari and will hold two people (a driver and a passenger) as well as feature a 62-inch high-definition television monitor. These game booths will be the first of their kind in Washington and one of only a handful worldwide.
A less traditional game featured in the 18,000 square foot arcade will be the Laser Chamber, a room full of laser beams through which the player must traverse without crossing any of the beams. The difficulty of the course can be controlled by changing the number of lasers (12, 18, or 48 lasers).
In addition, the arcade will a feature of a multitude of other driving simulator games. These include Sega HUMMER, an off-road racing game, Sega Harley Road King and a full-scale Harley-Davidson simulator.
Also within the arcade will be a Pro Sports Pack featuring the NBA, NFL, and MLB games as well as a coin-operated version of Guitar Hero, a first for the wildly popular guitar game which has become a smash hit among casual and hardcore gamers alike.
Interspersed among these games will be Super Trivia TV, a trivia game that tests the smarts of the player rather than their gaming abilities.
To round off the selection of games, the arcade will feature classic non-video games, including air hockey, bubble hockey (the hockey analog of foosball), and skee ball (a game where a ball must be rolled along an alley towards a jump and then fall into any one of several concentric circles).
