Comedians Joanie Fagan, Jennifer Rawlings and Beaumont Bacon will bring their own brand of funny to the stage at The ACT Theatre Thursday, Feb. 26 through Saturday, Feb. 28. The girls night out show “3 Blond Moms…See How They Run!” captures cul de sac talk about everything from motherhood to dealing with in-laws in a PG-13 stand-comedy performance.
The 3 Blonde Moms Comedy Show has joined with Bellevue’s P.E.A.C.E of Mind, a non-profit organization working to end childhood sexual abuse and abduction, through prevention education. The upcoming comedy show will donate $5 from each ticket purchased using the code PEACE at the box office or online at www.acttheatre.org. The proceeds donated will help in educating parents and empowering children for safer communities.
P.E.A.C.E of Mind founders Kim Estes and Sabrina Sessa were thrilled when they received a phone call from the comedy troop. The 3 Blond Moms were stopping by rainy Seattle and wanted to link with P.E.A.C.E of Mind to raise funding and awareness. The 3 Blond Moms company seeks to partner with local organizations in each town they visit during their countrywide tour to shine light on an important topic and to bring focus to it.
“The phone call came out of nowhere, but we’re affiliated with Amber Watch Foundation based out of California which carries support from a number of high-profile celebrities. I suspect they found us through that,” Estes explained, referring to P.E.A.C.E of Mind as a small, grass roots organization. “This is a really big deal to have this type of spotlight on our organization. We have funny and vibrant comedians coming to support us and it’s phenomenal.”
P.E.A.C.E of Mind works to overcome the negative stigma often associated with the topic of childhood sexual abuse and abduction.
“One of the things we are up against is the lingering fear factor about the topic,” Estes said, adding, “Prevention education is a good thing.”
