Parents, teens, kids: Come learn about local summer camps

Families are invited to learn about day camps and programs available for youth ages 3 to 17 at the Summer Day Camps Open House from 5-8 p.m., Thursday, May 19 at Crossroads Community Center.

Families are invited to learn about day camps and programs available for youth ages 3 to 17 at the Summer Day Camps Open House from 5-8 p.m., Thursday, May 19 at Crossroads Community Center.

Located at 16000 NE 10th St., the community center event will feature demonstrations, hourly prize drawings, opportunities to meet with program staff and instructors, and registration assistance.

Bellevue residents and non-residents are encouraged to come and explore a variety of camps and summer programs sponsored by Bellevue Parks & Community Services.

Summer day camps begin June 20; registration is on a first-come, first-served basis, and is open until the camps and classes are filled. Registration is also available online at www.MyParksAndRecreation.com.

Programs this summer include: Mad Science; Play-Well TEKnology pre-engineering and engineering camps; youth dance classes with JoVann Edwards; art programs with Beth Hay; Crossroads preschool/pre-kindergarten programs with Ms. Vicky; and cheer camps with Anne Taylor; Magic Reading; creative writing; math series and chess with Michelle Vallene; Bellevue Youth Theatre; Great Summer Adventure Camp for middle-school students (grades 6-8); Zumba fitness classes with Pamela Beck; and youth sports camps, including skate camps, Soccer Tech soccer camps, Steve Goucher’s pro baseball camp and iBall.
