Since the City of Bellevue has had to take external legal advice on the issue of Kevin Wallace’s business interests and his role on the council, I thought I’d help them out for free.
Yes, there is a conflict of interest. Since it seems as if every other building in downtown has Wallace Properties plastered all over it, how could there not be? But does it matter? Not at all. In fact, it’s probably a good thing to have someone on the council who has so much at stake. And we have elected six others to keep him honest.
So now I’ve cleared that up, there’s the question of what to do with that lawyer they’ve hired. Well, the toilets in my local park have been shut up since the last spending review. Perhaps he can pop round with a mop and bucket.
