The Lake Heights Family YMCA’s Adventure Guide circles helped 26 families, giving each a basket of food for Thanksgiving.

Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Chris B. Somerville, son of Connie Edwards of Bellevue and Brooke Somerville

of Bellevue, recently reported for duty at Naval Air Station, Meridian, Miss. He joined the Navy in June 2003.

Julian Ku, son of Peter and Sophia Ku of Bellevue, spoke at a conference entitled “Universal Jurisdiction Ten Years After Pinochet: Ending Impunity or Decreasing Accountability?” He is a law professor at Hofstra and Associate Dean for Faculty Development. The presentation included a final public session in the British House of Commons.

Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Tyler R. Erickson, son of Linda Molemaar of Bellevue is deployed to the Navy’s 5th and 6th Fleet area of operations in

support of Maritime Security Operations and the Global War on Terror. He is a 2005 graduate of Sammamish High School and joined the Marine Corps in September 2006.

Navy Petty Officer 1st Class Robert E. Milam Jr., son of Robert E. Milam of

Bellevue, recently returned from a six-month deployment to the U.S.

5th and 7th Fleet areas of operation. Milam joined the Navy in July 2003.

Navy Seaman Alex J. Vansickle, son of Joanne C. and Jeff E. Vansickle of Bellevue, was recently promoted to his current rank upon graduation from recruit training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. Vansickle is a 2008 graduate of Sammamish High School.

Three on honor roll

Three students from Bellevue have been named to the fall honor roll at Oregon State University.

They are Jace A. Allison, freshman, Pre-Computer Science; Courtney A. Clark, senior, Exercise and Sport Science; and Zachary S. Wilson, sophomore, Biochemistry and Biophysics.
