In the spirit of giving, Open Window School of Bellevue has gathered more than 330 volunteers to participate in the Positive Impact Project taking place on Dec. 6-7. The two-day event will bring students, parents, faculty and staff together to give back to the community during the holiday season.
“We are pleased by our school community’s enthusiastic response and strong participation; we hope it will inspire others to create the same type of event for their organization,” said Nancy Wells, the director of admissions and marketing for Open Window School (OWS).
Volunteers can choose to help out in many ways including:
Lending a hand with Earthcorps restoration project at Clarke Beach on Mercer Island;
Assembling packages of baby clothes and accessories at Eastside Baby Corner in Issaquah;
Socializing with cats waiting for adoption and making cat toys at Seattle Humane Society in Bellevue;
Bringing new friends together at the Garden Club retirement community in Bellevue through engaging and enriching activities;
Working to restore the native habitat at Discover Park in Seattle; and
Repackaging, sorting and labeling food goods at Food Lifeline in Shoreline.
“OWS values opportunities to make a difference in our community and we are very proud of this commitment by our school,” Wells said.
