Humane Society looking for home care for cats

The Seattle Humane Society is filled to the brim with cats and kittens, some of whom have “kitty colds” and could really benefit from home care until they are ready for adoption into loving homes, society officials say.

“Orphaned and abandoned cats are a community challenge,” said CEO Brenda Barnette. “The Seattle Humane Society is happy to lead the charge to help them. We are asking the community to help us meet that challenge and to give these orphaned cats and kittens the care they need and deserve.”

With the help of volunteers, during the society’s last fiscal year, 3,001 animals were given TLC in foster homes on their way to homes of their own, Barnette said.

People with a a spare room, garage or basement where the kitties can stay temporarily (away from other cats) are asked to call the Society’s Cat Foster Coordinator at 425-373-5380 or e-mail ashley@seattlehumane.org.
