Overlake Hospital Medical Center marks its 50th anniversary this year and is inviting the public to join in the celebration.

Overlake is asking former patients and community members to share their experiences at Overlake by visiting the hospital’s website and submitting stories and photos. Each person who shares a story will receive a free Overlake 50th anniversary T-shirt.

Overlake also is inviting area children age 12 and under to enter a drawing contest. The five children who best depict Overlake’s 50th “birthday party” each win a $50 gift certificate to Bellevue Art & Frame and The Toy Place. The winning child’s artwork may also be used on Overlake’s transit advertising throughout the summer and fall.

People can share their healing stories online and download the child’s drawing contest entry form here. Overlake will also distribute the drawing contest entry forms at the many hospital-sponsored, summer events held throughout the Eastside. Selected stories will be shared on the hospital’s Facebook page. The winning drawings will be displayed at Overlake the week of 
October 16-23.

Overlake will hold its special 50th anniversary Eastside Vitality Community Health Fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 23 in the PACCAR Education Center on the hospital campus. The event will feature free health screenings, informative presentations, demonstrations, activities for kids of all ages, healthy snacks, giveaways and more.
