Sister Joanne Reynolds, who taught religion, Latin, and French at the Society of the Sacred Heart school in Seattle (now Bellevue) died Sept. 14, 2013 in Atherton, Calif. She was 86.

Sister Joanne Reynolds, who taught religion, Latin, and French at the Society of the Sacred Heart  school in Seattle (now Bellevue) died Sept. 14, 2013 in Atherton, Calif. She was 86.

Reynolds was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa on Sept. 23, 1926 to George and Maude Hough Reynolds. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, George F. Reynolds. She is survived by a brother, Clarke E. Reynolds of Fairfield, Calif., and two sisters, Annette Janda of Aurora, Colo., and Yvonne Reynolds of Mt. Angel, Ore.

Besides teaching, she also was Mistress of Studies at Sacred Heart schools in both Menlo and Seattle.

Her life will be celebrated in a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Oct. 5 at 10:00 a.m. at Oakwood in Atherton. Burial will be at Oakwood.
