New Eastside primary care clinic

The healthcare you need will soon be closer than ever before. UW Medicine Primary Care at Kirkland opens on Tuesday, Oct. 24, bringing comprehensive care directly to patients living and working on the Eastside.

This 11,588-square-foot clinic fulfills UW Medicine’s promise to deliver more preventive and diagnostic services to Kirkland-area communities.

“With this clinic, we are providing primary care services closer to people’s homes,” says Pranika Laing, UW Medicine interim associate vice president for primary care and population health. “This is a great expansion of primary care to patient groups we haven’t been able to fully serve before.”

Access to lifelong care

The new primary care clinic in Kirkland is located between UW Medicine’s Woodinville and Factoria clinics. It will serve patients of all ages, from newborns to older adults. The goal is to build long-lasting doctor-patient relationships that will lead to better public health.

“There are a lot of families in Kirkland. We’re now able to provide access and continuity-of-care to those families and their children,” says Adewunmi Nuga, MD, PhD, the clinic’s medical director.

Patients can choose to schedule an appointment with a physician or nurse practitioner. Physician assistants, nurses, social workers, psychiatrists, dieticians and other medical assistants will also be part of patient care teams. Along with in-person visits, virtual appointments with primary care providers are also available. The clinic accepts most major insurance plans, including commercial plans, government programs and Medicare Advantage.

The clinic’s healthcare providers offer:

  • Acute and chronic illness care
  • Injury care
  • Nutritional counseling
  • Preventive care (routine check-ups, health screenings, vaccinations)
  • Laboratory and radiology services

The Urgent Care at Kirkland clinic is scheduled to open in 2024, Laing says.
