Margaret Rogerson of Bellevue died Feb. 17, 2010 at Overlake Hospital Medical Center in Bellevue. She was 85.
Mrs. Rogerson was born May 20, 1924 in Castle Rock, Wash., to Orris and Kate Bortner. After high school graduation she moved to Seattle to find work and took up residence at the Rogerson boarding house in Ballard. On April 20, 1944 she married Donald J. Rogerson in St. Alphonsus Parish in Ballard. In June of 1946, they moved to the Meydenbauer Bay area of Bellevue. Two years later, in 1948, they built the family home on Clyde Hill.
In her leisure time Mrs. Rogerson enjoyed reading, traveling, gardening, crocheting afghans and spending time with her family. She was also a committed member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church for decades.
Survivors include her abiding husband of 65 years; 10 children, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A funeral mass was celebrated Feb. 23, 2010 at St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Redmond. A graveside committal service was held at Sunset Hills Memorial Park in Bellevue.
