Baha’i to show documentary

The Baha’i Faith community of Bellevue will host a public event on Saturday, Feb. 21 to commemorate the nationwide “Education is Not a Crime” campaign.

 

The Baha’i Faith community of Bellevue will host a public event on Saturday, Feb. 21 to commemorate the nationwide “Education is Not a Crime” campaign. The event will take place at 2 p.m. at the Eastside Baha’i Center, 16007 N.E. Eighth St., Bellevue.

The free event will include a screening of the documentary ”To Light a Candle” produced and directed by the journalist, filmmaker and human rights activist Maziar Bahari, who has recently been the subject of subject of Rosewater, a full-length feature film directed by Jon Stewart of The Daily Show. Bahari is not a Bahai; he chose to make To Light a Candle to tell the story of fellow Iranians who suffer under constant persecution from the Iranian government.

The film will be followed by a panel discussion.
