Reject Sound Transit’s power play

It is appropriate that at this critical time when some members of our City Council are supporting Sound Transit and its preferred East Link route that our voters ballots have just arrived.

It is appropriate that at this critical time when some members of our City Council are supporting Sound Transit and its preferred East Link route that our voters ballots have just arrived.

Sound Transit has presented the city with a draft memorandum of understanding that details a plan for implementing its preferences for East Link in Bellevue. Sound Transit is demanding they be given a totally free hand to proceed as they determine with no legal basis for any challenge by the city or it’s citizens.

This is another example of a governmental entity trying to force it’s decision against the will of the people, and obligate Bellevue citizens for millions of dollars in additional costs and taxes. I urge councilmembers to reject this power play by Sound Transit.
