A free class will discuss how to choose plants in a garden that grow well together and encourage each other’s growth. The class, taught by Laura Matter of Seattle Tilth, will be offered from 10-11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 30 at Bellevue Nursery, 842 104th Ave SE.
The class will discuss characteristics of annual and perennial food crops, and how to group them together into mutually beneficial plant communities for maximizing space and harvest. It also will explore the permaculture concept of “guilds” and use nature as a model for expanding a garden.
The class is sponsored by Cascade Water Alliance and the Saving Water Partnership.
