Police from several agencies helped capture two prolific burglary suspects in South Bellevue on Wednesday after a 9-1-1 call reporting a burglary in progress.

An eyewitness reported a burglary in progress at a neighbor’s home in the Lakemont neighborhood of Bellevue. The eyewitness knew the neighbor was not home at the time and saw the suspects take the screen off the window, open the window and enter the home.

The eyewitness relayed suspect descriptions, direction of travel of the suspects when they ran from the house and then took pictures with his cell phone which he forwarded to the dispatch center. The caller’s actions assisted police with the eventual capture of the two suspects.

The suspects, both from Renton, ran from the home and through the woods towards a nearby golf course. Located a couple hours later during a K-9 track, both suspects were deep in the woods in a ravine, where they covered themselves up with leaves and hid under a log. Police arrested the pair assisted by a K-9 dog.

No officers or police dogs were injured during the incident. Medics aided one of the suspects after he sustained a bite from the K-9.
