Bellevue College will dedicate the Courter Family Athletic Pavilion at 10:30 a.m. Saturday to honor the Courter family for their support and long-time commitment to Bellevue College and its students.
The ceremony will take place after the college’s inaugural 5K run/walk, “Running of the Bull(dog)s,” that morning. The event will be in the courtyard outside the college gym, at the north end of campus.
The Courter family, owners of Honda Auto Center of Bellevue, has been a fixture in the Bellevue business and education community for decades. The family has been an integral part of the success and growth of Bellevue College, officials say. Al has been a driving force on the Bellevue College Foundation board since he joined it in 1991. The family has since supported the Northwest Center for Emerging Technologies, the Early Learning Center, an upgrade to the Geer Planetarium and BC Bulldog Athletics. The Courter Family also endowed an Interior Design Scholarship that helps students get started in this challenging and in-demand field.
