Both westbound lanes of State Route 520 are closing overnight this Wednesday (March 12) and Thursday (March 13)  to make room for various construction activities along the cross-lake highway.

The highway’s westbound lanes between Montlake Boulevard and 92nd Avenue Northeast will close at 11 p.m. both nights and reopen by 5 a.m. the following mornings.

During the closures, contractor crews working on WSDOT’s SR 520 Bridge Replacement and HOV Program will erect noise-wall panels and continue building concrete piers for a new West Connection Bridge. The latter structure will connect SR 520’s new floating bridge with existing highway lanes in Seattle. Crews also will perform maintenance on the existing floating bridge’s drawspan.

Nighttime construction closures of SR 520’s westbound lanes are scheduled again on Thursday, March 20 and Thursday, March 27.
