Eight talented Pacific Northwest Ballet School students from the Bellevue area have been selected to perform alongside Company dancers in Kent Stowell’s Cinderella at McCaw Hall Sept. 21-30.

Approximately 50 student dancers were selected by Artistic Director Peter Boal and the ballet masters to dance alongside the company of professional dancers.

Dancers who reside in Bellevue are: Gabrielle Eusebio (International M.S.); Julia Honari (Chinook M.S.); Emma Sherrell (Seattle Girl’s School); Dora Pungan (Issaquah M.S.); Mallory Kilbreath (Tyee M.S.); Eudora Sheridan (Bennett Elementary); Rose Wittenmeyer (Homeschool); and Adora Wu (Cherry Crest Elementary).

Rose Wittenmeyer, 11, of Bellevue will play the role of a bug and a good fairy attendant.

Wittenmeyer, who has been dancing for seven years, said she is looking forward to the complicated choreography, which mixes classic ballet movements with more spontaneous movement.

“There is a lot of dancing and jumping around,” Wittenmeyer said. “It’s really fun and interesting.”

As a fairy attendant, she and the other dancers help the good fairy complete her job.

In regard to what she is most looking forward to, Wittenmeyer said she is just excited to be on stage.

“When I’m dancing I just feel pure joy,” Wittenmeyer said. “My mind goes clear and I just dance.”

Also unique to this production are the Prince and Princess workshops. Beginning one hour before each matinee performance there will be a handful of activities for children and families, including crafts and dance classes.
