Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue is one of 400 Clubs across the country to receive a grant from the Walmart Foundation to help feed young Members during the summer. The local club received four $6,000 grants for snacks totaling $24,000.
Nationwide, 61 percent of Boys & Girls Club members qualify for free or reduced-price lunches. In Bellevue, this number varies from school to school and is as high as 63 percent (Lake Hills Elementary School). BGCB collaborates with partners such as Food Lifeline, city of Bellevue, Coca Cola, and the Jim Mora Count on Me Family Foundation.
The Bellevue facility, located at 209 100th Ave. NE, is open throughout the year, including summer, spring, and winter breaks for after-school programming, athletics, and other recreational activities.
