Bellevue and Newcastle are seeking funds from King County as part of the Youth Sports Facilities grants program.

Bellevue has requested $75,000 for both the fieldhouse and ballfield at its Hidden Valley complex. Newcastle is seeking $75,000 for its Little Rhody Park Playground and Court.

In all, King County Parks has received 19 applications for money to renovate or build public sports facilities across the county. Total requests are nearly $1.3 million. The county has a budget of $500,000.

Organizations that receive an award must match the grant money.
