Bellevue will receive $3.3 million for its Northeast Fourth Street extension project from the Puget Sound Regional Council. The money will help construct a new four- to five-lane roadway with two-way bike lanes. The project will accommodate future uses of the existing Eastside railroad corridor.

“Helping communities secure federal transportation funding is one of the key roles of the PSRC,” said PSRC President, Kitsap County Commissioner Josh Brown. “This project rose to the top on its merits and can not only deliver improvements for the future, but help grow jobs in the near term.”

PSRC develops policies and coordinates decisions about regional growth, transportation and economic development planning within King, Pierce, Snohomish and Kitsap counties.
