Microsoft donation to aid Boys/Girls club athletic program

Microsoft will provide a generous contribution to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue to support the club’s athletic programs. The company will become the primary sponsor for the Club’s 2009-2010 sports leagues.

This pledge will help create BE GREAT Summer Sports Camps. These camps are offered to early elementary school age children and are designed to promote and interest in athletics to help build a foundation for a healthy lifestyle.

“Microsoft is proud to support the Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue,” said Jon Roskill, corporate vice president, U.S. Business and Marketing Organization, Microsoft. “As the primary sponsor of the club’s sports leagues this year, we know the positive impact that athletics can have on kids, particularly in building self-esteem and learning valuable lessons in teamwork and sportsmanship”

This contribution renews Microsoft’s commitment to the club’s athletic programs.

“It’s great to see not only the reoccurring financial support that Microsoft provides to our Clubs, but also the countless hours the company’s employees put into coaching our teams,” said Sr. Athletic Director Meghan Waddle. “The funds and hours have contributed to helping us build one of the largest athletic programs in the Pacific Northwest.”

Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue was established in 1952. Currently the organization has 12 sites throughout the city of Bellevue and serves more than 10,000 kids annually.
